How to apply
New Zealand selection process
Applications are now open for students wanting to represent New Zealand at the 2009 Eco-Minds forum, being held in Auckland and Rotorua 25 – 30 May 2009.
Applicants must complete the three sections below and email responses to ecominds@ppr.co.nz by 5pm, 24 December 2008.
The theme for the forum is "Sustainable Energy Supply: Challenges and Opportunities".

Part 1 - essay
In line with the above theme, applicants must answer the following essay question:
“In approximately 1000 words, identify the environmental, social and economic aspects of an energy supply system in your country, and discuss how you would match environmental aspirations against the practical realities of day-to-day needs, including improving standards of living.”

Part 2 – information about yourself
- Provide information about yourself – name, date of birth, address, current course of study and contact details for one referee.
- Briefly describe activities, studies and projects you have carried out and how they are related to sustainable development, including you role in these activities and related documentation.

Entry criteria
All New Zealand applicants must meet the following requirements:
Entries will be judged by an independent panel.

- Be a New Zealand citizen
- Enrolled in a New Zealand tertiary institution (university of polytechnic)
- Aged 18 to 24 years on 25 May, 2009
- Actively involved in environmental or sustainable development activities, or projects
- Willing to travel to Auckland and Rotorua
- Be able to work well within a group.
